MCKVAA PREMIER LEAGUE -2023

MCKV Alumni Association conducted their first edition of MCKVAA Premier League- a cricket tournament on 25 and 26 March 2023 at One-Shot Turf, Foreshore road, Howrah.  72 players (alumni & present students of classes 11 & 12) had registered themselves as participants through Google form on first- come- first- serve basis and were divided into 6 different team.

The teams named Spartans, Grit, Rainbow Warriors, Marotia & Kidlys, Hustlers, MM Power, owned by our alumni members, competed against each other for the maiden cup of MCKVAA Premier League. Cric-Hereos were hired as the official broadcaster and for neutral umpiring.

In the opening ceremony, Director, Mr. Neelkanth Gupta and Principal, Mrs. Mallika Mukherjee inaugurated the event by lighting the torch. Our title sponsor -Aman Agarwal (Bid force-owner) accompanied them. This was followed by a photography session with all team owners and team captains. The inspiring speeches by our Director and Principal set the tone for the day.

The fixtures were scheduled in such a manner that 6 league matches were played on Day 1 with each team playing two matches. The semis and final matches took place on the second day.  Each player playing the league gave in their best to ensure a slot in the last four. However, Grit; Hustlers; Marotia & Kidleys; and Rainbow Warriors won the day and book their place for the semis.

On 26 March 2023 Grit and Hustlers by virtue of their ‘grit’ secured the finalist spots for themselves.  Marotia Kidleys was declared the second runner-up. After a two-day nail-biting fight, team Hustlers emerged the winner of inaugural cup of MCKVAA Premier League. Team GRIT bagged the second position. Aditya Ojha, the captain of Hustlers, was awarded the Man of the Tournament.

Headmaster, Mr. Biswajit Majumdar, Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh along with alumni coordinator-Mrs Ekta Awasthi Gupta remained witness to these priceless moments and handed over the trophies and awards. The tournament concluded with a vote of thanks by our Headmaster.
