Saraswati Puja

Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, wisdom, art and music, is worshipped on the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja, celebrated on Basant Panchami, a festival that marks the beginning of the Spring season. The day holds special significance for students as they pray to the goddess for helping them concentrate better in their studies and to be endowed the power of judgement and clarity of thought.  The word Saraswati is a Sanskrit word that means "one who leads to essence of self-knowledge".

Saraswati Puja was celebrated on the 22nd of January, 2018, in the school volleyball grounds. Students from Classes 5 to 11 and some students from MCKV Institute of Engineering attended the puja. A few teachers, along with the Interact Club boys, had reported to school a little early for the puja preparations. The puja started at around 7.30 a.m. and included  Hawan, Pushpanjali and Aarti. The entire community joined in the invocation of the Goddess through the Saraswati Vandana.  Thereafter, prasad was distributed to all the students and staff members who attended the puja. The idol was immersed in the river on the 24th of January only after the students had sought the blessings from the Goddess.
