A Unique Initiative to Nurture Nature by M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth : A Seed Ball Making Project
Published on: 30 Jun 2024
Students of Classes 6,7, and 8 of M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth participated in a summertime project, ‘seed ball making’, where students prepared seed balls using dried seeds of indigenous fruits and vegetables, rolled them in mud and created compost balls. These seed balls would be dispersed in barren lands during monsoon with the objective of restoring greenery and lush landscapes.
On 29 June 2024, Mr Biswajit Majumdar, Headmaster, Ms Debjani Kundu, Middle school Coordinator, Ms Lipika Dhar, Head of the Department of Biology, along with the students, handed over these seed balls to Concern For Earth, an NGO, who would use this as an opportunity to improve the environment.
It is time to give back to Mother Earth what she gives to us. Let us act before it is too late.
