When does the academic year begin?
The academic year begins in the first week of April and ends in the last week of March. Saturdays and Sundays-the weekends are designated holidays, though Saturdays are assigned for compulsory extra-curricular activities.


What are the school hours?
School hours are from 8.40 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. The timings schedule for different classes is as follows

Pre-Nursery 8.40 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
Nursery 8.40 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
K.G. to II 8.40 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
III to X 8.40 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
XI to XII 8.40 a.m. to 2.20 p.m.

Can I know something about the curriculum?
In the Primary Section   :  English Language & Literature, Hindi/Bengali, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art & Craft, Drawing, SUPW, Computers (Class I onwards), Moral Science and General Knowledge.
In the Secondary Section: English Language & Literature, Hindi/Bengali, 3rd Language, Mathematics, SUPW, Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology),History, Geography, Art & Craft, Computer Science, Moral Science, General Knowledge, Sixth Subject in Classes IX & X.


How can I be sure that my child participates in extra and co-curricular activities?
The School has a spacious playground with good facilities for indoor and outdoor games. Going beyond textbooks, the school ensures students’ holistic development by exposing him to activities like quizzes, debates, elocution contests, declamation contests, recitation, essay competitions and dramatics. A diversified approach to extra-curricular, activities helps every student to find his chosen passion - be it Martial Arts (Judo and karate), Roller Skating, Basket Ball, Soccer, Volley ball, Athletics, Painting. Art and Craft, Yoga, Music (Vocal and Instrumental), Harmonium, Tabla, Indian Classical Music are also given due importance.


What are the unique features of the school?

Very few schools can boast of an infrastructure as good as ours. State-of-the-art laboratories make subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology more rewarding for the students. The Geography and History departments have their own laboratories too. Our computer center is equipped with the latest educational software and hardware. Wifi facility is available everywhere in the school. Right from the Kindergarten to Class 8 all classrooms are equipped with smart classes. The Audio-Visual room encourages modern and interactive teaching and takes learning beyond textbooks. CCTV Cameras are installed at every nook and corner of the school. Our library boasts of a remarkable and comprehensive collection of books, magazines, video and audio tapes, and interactive CDs. All these indeed make our library a treasure-house for knowledge. The play junction and children’s park, built specially for our students of the Pre-Primary wing, ensure that a regular day for a MCKV student is joyful and filled with pleasant memories.


When does the admission process begin?

Admissions for classes Pre-Nursery and Nursery normally begin in the month of October while admissions for class 11 usually begin in the month of January.


What is the admission procedure?

For those seeking admissions in Pre-Nursery and Nursery, an interaction is conducted at which pupil and both the parents have to be present.
For Class 11, Science, an admission test is conducted followed by an interaction.
For Class 11, Commerce, an interaction is conducted at which pupil and both the parents have to be present.
The final decision of the admission committee is binding.

What facilities are available for games and sports?
The school students may choose from a wide option of sports and games. These include cricket, football, hockey, badminton, table tennis, basketball, athletics and classical dances,basketball and atheletics.
