Addiction is a Death Trap: An Interactive Session With Parents

Addiction is a sad reality among a large number of teenagers all over the world. As a school, we are deeply concerned with the emotional and mental wellbeing of our students. On 15 July 2023, an interactive session on Addiction is a Death Trap was conducted by the MCKV Wellness Centre for the parents of the children of Class 9 in Malay Manch.

Mr Amitabh Mohan, renowned psychologist, Founder & MD, HLS India, and Ms Apala Chatterjee and Ms Mousumi Choudhury, the school counsellors, conducted the session, emphasizing the active involvement and support of the parents in the prevention of addiction. Parents were encouraged to create a comfortable space for communication and closely monitor activities that their wards are engaging in. A special segment was devoted to the addiction of phones and useful suggestions were shared on how to deal with this problem.

The question and answer session at the end of the discussion proved to be quite rewarding. Our parents welcomed this initiative by the school whole-heartedly. Together we can design a better future for our boys.
