Art is fundamentally a communicative medium: the processes of creation and appreciation of art constitute a special kind of communication.
On 16 November 2019, the MCKV Art Department organized a Painting Workshop conducted by Dr. Bibekananda Mukherjee, H.O.D, Visual Arts, University of Kalyani and Mr. Ritendra Roy, Associate Professor, Department of Visual Arts, University of Kalyani.
28 students from classes 6 to 12 participated in this workshop. The duration of the workshop was 270 minutes. The topic of the workshop was “Reflect in mind how to translate a vision into a painting" and "Use of acrylic colour in different forms.”
The students as well as the facilitators freely painted from their imagination. Students were guided and a few tips were shared to make their paintings more effective.
The goals of the workshop were:
(i) to facilitate proper guidance by experts to our budding artists
(ii) to organize it in open air to be close to nature, thereby stimulating their creative thinking
The format of the workshop was designed to enhance creativity and effectiveness.
The paintings by Dr. Bibekananda Mukherjee and Mr. Ritendra Roy along with the paintings of the students will be displayed in the painting exhibition on 14 December 2019.
