Career Fair 2024 at M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth

M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth hosted Career Fair 2024 on Saturday, 17 August 2024.  Offering flowers and seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the fair was inaugurated in the presence of distinguished guests, including the Guest of Honour, Dr Saibal Chattopadhyay, Director of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, Dr Shabina N Omar, Officer on Special Duty, Education Directorate, Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, Captain Amit Sanyal, an Indian Navy Veteran, Ms Chandreyee Ghose, Special Correspondent for The Telegraph, Mr Amitabh Mohan, MD of HLS India, Mr Kishan Kumar Kejriwal, Chairman, Prof.(Dr.) Parthasarathi Chakraborthy, CEO, Mr Neelkantha Gupta, Director, Ms Mallika Mukherjee, Principal, and Mr Biswajit Majumdar, Headmaster.

The highlight of the day was the panel discussion on the Emerging Career Trends in the 21st Century. The discussion was deftly  moderated by Mr Amitabh Mohan. The esteemed panellists, Dr Saibal  Chattopadhyay, Dr Shabina N Omar, Ms Chandreyee Ghose, and Captain Amit Sanyal shared their insights into the rapidly evolving career landscape. While Dr Chattopadhyay emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in educational space and reinforced the future of the upcoming workforce lies in entrepreneurship, Dr Omar  talked about blurring boundaries in streams and careers highlighting the importance of credit framework and enhancing employability. Dr Sanyal directed his address to the future of careers in armed forces, highlighting the need for intellect and courage not only in terms of career but also in life.  Ms Ghosh spoke of how multitasking, adaptability, and exploration hold the key to a successful career. The remarkable question answer session at the end of the discussion, created a space for meaningful learning.

Experts from several reputed institutions like JPNR Corporate Consultants, Indian Institute of Hotel Management, MCKVIE, MSME, Madhusthali Institute of Teacher Training, Madhusthali Institute of Paramedic Science, set up stations in the school atrium. The career fair also featured a variety of stalls covering diverse and emerging careers allowing students to engage directly with professionals, educators, and former students of the institutions.

Neighbouring schools like St. Dennis School, Little Star High School, Agrasain Balika Siksha Sadan, Agrasain Boys’ School and I. P. Memorial School attended the fair.

A digital booklet providing comprehensive details on various career options, compiled by MCKV,  was launched on the very same day.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Sanchita Sarkar, Secondary Stage Coordinator.
