CISCE Regional Yoga Competition 2024

M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth hosted CISCE Regional Yoga Competition for West Bengal and North East Region on behalf of Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, on Friday, 26 July 2024.
The ceremony commenced by paying tribute to the great sage Patanjali, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the esteemed guests, judges, and other dignitaries. The MCKV choir group paid tribute to Goddess Saraswati by chanting the Saraswati Vandana. Mr Neelkantha Gupta, Director, welcomed everyone and formally declared the meet open. The participating Schools were Agrasain Boys’ School, Liluah, Boon English School, Alipurduar, Calcutta Public School, Kolkata, Central Modern School, Kolkata, Contai Public School, East Medinipur, Divine Mercy School, Howrah, Holy Cross School, Kolkata, Krishnanagar Academy, Nadia, Lions Calcutta (Greater) Vidyamandir, Kolkata, Maria’s Day School, Howrah, P. B. Academic, Kolkata, P. P. Memorial Academy, Howrah, Saifee Golden Jubilee English Public School, Kolkata, Sri Sri Academy, Kolkata, Sri R.N. Singh Memorial High School, Rajdanga Branch, Kolkata, St. Augustine's Day School, Shyamnagar, St. Augustine's Day School, Barrackpore, The Heritage School, Kolkata, Tribeni Tissues Vidyapith, Hooghly, Vivekananda Mission School, Kolkata, Oxford High School, Howrah, The Future Foundation School, Kolkata, St. Thomas’ Church School, Howrah and M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth, Howrah. The participants competed in the Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 categories, captivating the audience with their talent, determination, and precision in traditional, artistic, and rhythmic forms of yogasanas.
The judges faced a challenging task, and after extensive deliberation, the results were finally announced. In the traditional U-14 category, Supratim Saha of Agrasain Boys' School bagged the First Prize, Himoghna Nath of Lions Calcutta (Greater) Vidyamandir bagged the Second Prize and Aarav Khemka of Agrasain Boys' School stood Third in the category.
In the traditional U-17 category, Sounava Hazra of Calcutta Public School bagged the First Prize, Shounak Maity of Contai Public School received the Second Prize and Priyam Majumder of Central Modern School bagged the Third Prize.
In the traditional U-19 category, Priyanshu Mandal of Holy Cross School bagged the First Prize, Aman Kumar Singh of Agrasain Boys’ School was declared Second and Abhineeth Bhowmik of Agrasain Boys’ School received the Third Prize.
In the Artistic Yoga U- 14 category, Himoghna Nath of Lions Calcutta (Greater) Vidyamandir received the First Prize, Supratim Saha of Agrasain Boys' School bagged the Second Prize and Priyanshu Biswas of Krishnanagar Academy received the Third Prize.
In the Artistic Yoga U-17 category, Adi Karmakar of St. Augustines’ Day School, Shyamnagar stood First, Soham Mukherjee of Maria’s Day School stood Second and Deepayan Chattopadhyay of Krishnanagar Academy stood Third.
In the Artistic Yoga U-19 category, Priyanshu Mandal of Holy Cross School bagged the First Prize, Deepanjan Kar of Contai Public School was declared Second and Naman Poddar of Agrasain Boys’ School was adjudged Third.
In the rhythmic U-14 category, Aarav Khemka of Agrasain Boys’ School received the First Prize, Sourjya Kumar Hazra of St. Thomas Church School bagged the Second Prize and Hritanshu Ghosh of Tribeni Tissues Vidyapith stood Third.
In the rhythmic U-17 category, Sounava Hazra of Calcutta Public School was declared First, Ashutosh Khandelwal of The Heritage School was adjudged Second and Priyam Majumder of Central Modern School received the Third Prize.
In the rhythmic U-19 category, Abhineeth Bhowmik of Agrasain Boys’ School bagged the First Prize, Arithro Koley of Divine Mercy School received the Second Prize and Md. Sultan Ahmed of Saifee Golden Jubilee English Public School was declared Third.
The trophy of the Best Yogasana Sport Player in U-14 category was bagged by Himoghna Nath of Lions Calcutta (Greater) Vidyamandir, in U-17 category by Adi Karmakar and in U-19 category by Priyanshu Mandal of Holy Cross School.
Agrasain Boys’ School was declared the Group Champion in both U-14 and U-19 categories and The Heritage School bagged the trophy of the Group Champion in U-17 category.
The tournament concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms Priyanka Ghoshal, Asst. Teacher, M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth followed by the National Anthem.
