As a part of the Recognition of International Dimension in Schools (RIDS) project, the four school Houses of M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth participated in an engaging activity titled “Currency Chronicles.” Each house was allotted a country—Ghana, India, Thailand, and Egypt—to decorate their respective house boards to narrate the story of the nation’s currency.

The displays focussed on three key aspects: the history of the currency, its journey of evolution, and its exchange rate with respect to the US dollar. Each board reflected thorough research and creative presentation.

While the display board on Ghana traced the shift from barter systems to the Ghanaian Cedi, highlighting major reforms, the board on India showcased the evolution of Indian currency from ancient coins to modern banknotes, emphasising decimalisation and security features. The exhibit board featuring Thailand depicted the development of the Thai Baht influenced by economic growth and global trade. Finally, the informative board on Egypt illustrated the journey from ancient coinage to the modern Egyptian Pound.

All boards included a comparison of current exchange rates against the US dollar, enhancing students’ global economic understanding. The activity blended history, economics, and international awareness, transforming school corridors into a vibrant global learning space.
