M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth Celebrates 78th Independence Day

The 78th Independence Day of our motherland was celebrated with patriotic fervour at M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth on 15 August 2024. The celebration aimed to look back at India's rich culture and heritage with pride honouring the sacrifices of millions of individuals.

The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, Captain Amit Sanyal, an Indian Navy Veteran, Prof. (Dr) Parthasarathi Chakraborthy, CEO, Mr Neelkantha Gupta, Director, Ms Mallika Mukherjee, Principal, Mr Abhay Kejriwal, Trustee, and Mr Biswajit Majumdar, Headmaster.

The day started with the hoisting of the national flag by Captain Sanyal amidst the beat of the drums and mark time march past. As the tricolor fluttered, the school campus resonated with the national anthem sung in unison.

The cultural programme, in the school auditorium, commenced with the address by Mr Neelkantha Gupta, Director, highlighting the importance of discipline in life and the rights and responsibilities of citizens as outlined in our preamble. Prof. (Dr) Parthasarathi Chakraborthy, CEO, in his address, urged to build the country on the principles of Sri Aurobindo by understanding the essence of independence. This was followed by an invigorating speech by the Officiating School Captain, Arya Vardhan Pandey. The cultural presentation was an assortment of mellifluous patriotic song and dance performance interspersed with prize distribution for different Inter-House competitions held in the academic session 2024-2025. 

In his address, Captain Amit Sanyal, our Guest of Honour, stressed on the role of parents in motivating children to contribute to a brighter future for India. He also shared his experiences and encouraged the children to be prepared to serve their motherland.

The celebration finally came to a close with the School Vice-Captain, Kunal Tiwari, proposing a vote of thanks.
