On the occasion  of National Doctors’ Day,  M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth organized a series of engaging activities across various grades, to honour the selfless service and dedication of doctors towards the society.

Dressed up as doctors and nurses, children of Pre-Nursery to KG engaged in role play. Children of Pre-Nursery  learned how to maintain oral hygiene through vibrant action songs. Nursery children made  stethoscopes in their craft classes. As a token of gratitude, KG children presented ‘Thank You’ cards and  flowers to the doctors  associated with MCKV Healthcare.  Class 1 children were engaged in scrapbooking the indispensable role of doctors in society, while Class 2 students were familiarized with the usage of a  first aid box through dramatization.

Activities in the Secondary and Middle Stages allowed students to delve into the fascinating world of Chemistry and its medical applications. Students of Class 6 participated in a poster-making competition where they presented an array of contributions Chemistry has made to medicine. To appreciate the children’s participation, each student received a specially designed bookmark.  Meanwhile, students of Class 7 participated in a quiz on the life and contributions of  Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.

The PowerPoint presentation on When Sweet is Sour: An Insight on Juvenile Diabetes covering the biochemical aspects of juvenile diabetes, its causes, and the role of Chemistry in understanding and managing this condition organized for Classes 8 and 9 was an eye-opener. However, the magic show, demonstrating the wonders of Chemistry, hosted by the students of Classes 11 and 12 for Class 5 was truly the highlight of the day.

The activities throughout the day helped students gain a deeper understanding of the significance of Chemistry in medicine, raised awareness about critical health issues and ignited a sense of respect and admiration for the medical profession among students.
