On 18 September 2024, students of  M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth commemorated the 108th birth anniversary of children’s author, Roald Dahl, immersing themselves in the fantastical world of Dahl, through a series of exciting interdisciplinary activities.

While Class 5 students participated in a fancy dress competition, bringing to life iconic characters from Dahl’s stories like Mr Fox, Matilda, Willy Wonka, Class 6 students prepared Snozzcumber Cakes in their classrooms for a non-fire cooking activity, inspired by Dahl’s The Big Friendly Giant.

Class 7 boys dived into the world of science as they conducted fun experiments in pairs inspired by Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Experiment whereas the students of Class 8 navigated the wonders of the South Pole through a documentary and worked out a trip budget to the South Pole.

The PowerPoint Presentation Competition saw students of Class 9 exploring Roald Dahl’s popular literary works and their film adaptations.

The day-long celebration was a befitting tribute to the legendary author and his works, providing our students an opportunity to venture beyond their textbooks, think out of the box, and hone their creative, communication and even culinary skills. It was truly a manifestation of the transversal approach to education.
