MCKV Chefs: Bagless Day Activity for Class 8

A kitchen is a learning lab for students involving almost all their senses. As a part of the ongoing bagless day activities, a non-fire culinary workshop was conducted by the Indian Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Kolkata, for the students of Class 8 on 8 August 2023. The concept of Bagless Day is one of the NEP 2020 recommendations and we have adopted it enthusiastically.

 The school atrium was transformed into miniature workstations of chefs where students chopped, mixed and whisked various ingredients to create mouthwatering delicacies like sandwiches, dips and cracker toppings under the guidance of professional chefs.

In today’s day and age, cooking is an essential life skill. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed their experience of donning the chef’s hat for the day.
