Internationalism is embedded in MCKV ideology, ethos, curriculum and way of life. We have always encouraged our students to accept, embrace and celebrate differences transcending national identities, cultural divides and political boundaries. In a bid to celebrate world, people, life & cultures, and take a small step towards creating a better world, MCKV organized ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – an immersive exhibition dedicated to celebration of other cultures.
The exhibition was inaugurated by our dear Chairman in the presence of our Director, Principal, Headmaster and parents on 22 December 2022. The school atrium transformed into a seat for a lively cultural fair. Our students took us on a comprehensive tour around the world-namely Japan, Brazil, Egypt and the United Kingdom- in two days. Our boys introduced us to the unique traditions, landmarks, features and customs salient to these countries. It was absolutely phenomenal to see Pele dribbling in one corner of the atrium, while Shylock and Antonio engage in a evocative conversation about the power of humanity, at the other. Be it the aesthetic Japanese Ikebana on display, or the glimpses of the traditional Egyptian household, the exotic Amazon Forest or the iconic Telephone Booths of London, the atrium offered so many more distinctive sights to behold. The surprise traditional dance performances in the breaks too deserve a special mention.
Not only did the two-day exhibition provide an unprecedented opportunity for our students, to appreciate different cultures; think out-of-the box; showcase their creative skills; critically analyse and apply text book learning into real life scenario, but also imparted twenty-first century life skills of global citizenship, empathy and collaboration.
