MCKV SPRINT 2024

The morning of Saturday, 20 April 2024 sent ripples of enthusiasm among the budding sportsmen of MCKV as they gathered for MCKV SPRINT 2024, a grand event celebrating sports of different countries organized as a part of the MCKV IDS project. Ms Vaishnavi  Yadav and Ms Poonam Chaturvedi, the distinguished national Basketball players who represented India in the Asian Games 2023, graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour. The inaugural event at the school auditorium commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The inspiring address by Mr Neelkantha Gupta, Director, highlighted how following the principles of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the school aims to nurture students who are deeply connected to their roots, yet ready to embrace universalism. The dynamic yoga presentation, an impressive display of martial arts and a presentation celebrating the congruence of sports and internationalism were the highlights of the opening ceremony.

In the second leg of the event, the Guests of Honour, declared the meet open. Thereafter, students challenged each other in a number of indoor sports like chess, skating and table tennis. Students also participated in different outdoor games, namely, basketball, football, volleyball and kite flying etc.

The closing ceremony witnessed the declaration of the meet being closed, the name of the winners and the overall Champion House– Theta House. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms Aparna Ghoshal Saha, the IDS Coordinator.  As the choir sang the national anthem, the spectators applauded the remarkable synergy of athletic prowess and sportsmanship in MCKV SPRINT 2024.
