Nurturing Nature and Empathy – Students Lead the Way at MCKV

Published on: 23 Jun 2025

As part of a purposeful summertime sustainability project, students of Classes 1 to 8 of M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth took inspiring steps towards environmental conservation and social responsibility.

During their vacation, students diligently collected mango seeds, cleaned and sun-dried them for 8–10 days, and returned them neatly packed in paper bags. These seeds will now be nurtured into saplings and planted by farmers contributing to greener landscapes and healthier ecosystems.

In another heartfelt gesture, students of Classes 3 to 8 donated old notebooks with unused pages. These pages will be repurposed into educational materials for underprivileged children, supporting inclusive and equitable access to learning.

A formal handover ceremony was held on 23 June 2025. The Headmaster, Mr Biswajit Majumdar, along with Academic Coordinators, Ms Debjani Kundu, Ms Shuvra Nundon, Ms Shamshad Sultana, Biology Head of the Department, Ms Sweta Singhania, and Interact Club Teacher Coordinator, Mr Arnab Dasgupta, formally handed over the contributions to Mr Santosh Mohta of Concern for Earth, an NGO dedicated to environmental sustainability.

This initiative is a testament to MCKV students’ growing awareness, empathy, and commitment to building a more sustainable and compassionate future.
