Orientation Day (Day 1) for Nursery – 2026–2027

On Tuesday, 17 March 2026, the school hosted its Orientation Day for the parents of Nursery children (2026–27) in the AV Hall, with around 82 parents in attendance. The event was graced by Chairman, Mr Kishan Kumar Kejriwal, Director, Mr Neelkantha Gupta, Trustee, Mr Abhay Kejriwal, Principal, Mr Biswajit Majumdar, Senior School Headmistress, Ms Gargi Mukherjee, Junior School Headmistress, Ms Keka Mukherjee, and Ms Aditi Katara, Partnership Specialist, HEI Schools, Finland.
The programme began with a lively welcome song by the UKG students. Ms Sylvia Maria Mendes, Foundational Stage Coordinator, welcomed the parents and outlined the purpose of the orientation. Chairman, Mr Kishan Kumar Kejriwal, shared the school’s vision and introduced the adoption of the Finnish Toolkit Curriculum in the Foundational Stage.
Ms Aditi Katara, the keynote speaker of the day, explained the Finnish Early Childhood Education (ECE) principles to the parents, focussing on play-based and inquiry-driven learning, creativity, and holistic development. She also emphasised the importance of routines, adequate sleep, reduced screen time, and engaging children in activities such as puzzles and board games.
Director, Mr Neelkantha Gupta, addressed the parents’ concerns regarding the Finnish approach, explaining its alignment with the ICSE curriculum and the integration of Indian values through stories like the Jataka Tales and the Panchatantra.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks followed by a school tour, marking a significant first step towards a lifelong collaboration between the parents and the school.
