Published on: 13 Jul 2024

Parenting teenagers can be a demanding and daunting task. As children transition into adolescence, they undergo a multitude of changes that can create a range of challenges for their parents. These challenges arise from the need to balance guidance with independence, discipline with understanding, and protection with trust. To help navigate this complex stage of parenting more effectively, Wellness Centre of M. C. Kejriwal  Vidyapeeth organized a session entitled Parenteen (a special guide on parenting teenagers) on 13 July 2024 for the parents of Class 9.

The session was conducted by Mr Amitabh Mohan (MD, HLS India), a professional psychologist, with extensive experience in adolescent counselling. The session aimed at equipping parents with effective strategies to support their wards during this critical juncture of life. Mr Mohan, in his inimitable style, highlighted the importance of understanding the psychological and emotional changes that teenagers undergo and how parents can be a friend, philosopher and mentor to them.

Parents much appreciated the practical advice offered and felt more confident about their ability to support their children. In the long run, the session would prove crucial in forging and improving long-term relationships.
