Rath Yatra Celebrations at MCKV

The famous festival of Rath Yatra was celebrated with much enthusiasm on 8 July 2024 at M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth. During the morning assembly, the holy ritual of pulling the sacred thread of the chariot with the deities of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra was performed by our Principal, Ms Mallika Mukherjee, Headmaster, Mr Biswajit Majumdar,  and students of Kindergarten.

Following the assembly, special Rath Yatra activities were conducted for Foundational Stage students. Toddlers of Pre-Nursery and Nursery visited different classrooms with beautifully decorated Raths. Pre-Nursery children participated in a group collage making activity. Nursery and Kindergarten unleashed their creativity as they designed colourful Raths. Class 1 students thoroughly enjoyed crafting Raths using their finger impression while Class 2 students engaged in discussing the significance of the festival.

The day’s activities were successful in nurturing a sense of community and devotion among students celebrating the rich cultural heritage associated with Rath Yatra.
