Screen Time: The Struggle to find the right balance- An Interactive Session with the Parents of Class 4
Published on: 19 Aug 2023
One of the far-reaching consequences of the global pandemic was the addiction to screen among children. With excessive exposure to screen time becoming an unfortunate truth in today's life, children are becoming increasingly sedentary, anxiety prone and have almost lost their capacity to form connections. To empower our parents on how to monitor screen time of their wards, an interactive session, 'Screen Time: The Struggle to find the right balance' was organized by the Wellness Centre of the school on 19 August 2023 for the parents of the students of Class 4.
Eminent psychologist, Mr Amitabh Mohan and school counsellors, Dr Apala Chatterjee and Ms Mousumi Chowdhury, helped our parents realize that for optimum cognitive, psychomotor and emotional development, children need the presence of humans and not screens in their lives. Parents got an insight on different strategies that can be applied to minimize screen time and how to tackle alarming situations and use it to their advantage.
After attending the hour-long session, we believe, our parents will be able to guide, manage and supervise their ward's use of screen time as their children grow physically and digitally.
