The Gratitude Project: A Step Towards Peace and Harmony

Published on: 08 Oct 2025

The Rotary Club of Calcutta Presidency, under its initiative “Peace and Conflict Resolution through G-R-A-T-I-T-U-D-E,” launched a special programme in schools to nurture gratitude, peace, and harmony.

At M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth, the project began on 9 July 2025 with Class 8 students writing heartfelt letters of thanks to their parents and guardians. The inland letters, provided by the Rotary Club, were posted to homes of the students, reviving the charm of letter writing. Parents received them with warmth, and many responded, making the exchange even more meaningful.

On 25 September 2025, three best letter writers from each section were felicitated during the morning assembly by Chairman, Mr Kishan Kumar Kejriwal, who also shared touching excerpts from some of the letters. He urged students to carry forward the culture of gratitude in their lives.

This initiative beautifully reminded everyone that gratitude begins at home and strengthens bonds of love and care.
