World Earth Day celebrations at MCKV

World Earth Day 2024 was celebrated in M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth upholding the global theme of "Planet vs. Plastics", intending to phase out the use of plastics as well as creating awareness on the health risk of micro plastics.

In a unique initiative, the Biology Department in collaboration with Interact club of M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth distributed cloth bags to parents in exchange for the plastic packets they brought to school. This drive will continue this entire week starting from 22 April 2024.

A short movie entitled Plastik was shown to the students of Classes 3 to 8 in their Science and Biology classes and students deliberated on the harmful aspects of micro plastics after that. Students were encouraged to replace their plastic bottles with either steel or copper bottles and also reduce the usage of plastics in their homes.

It is our belief that this earth day would mark a new beginning towards a sustainable environment and enable our students to think progressively.
