Introduction

M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth (MCKV) is an English medium institution affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, dedicated to nurturing students for success in the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations. Since its establishment on 15 June 1997, the school has made significant strides in both academic achievements and co-curricular endeavours.

Originally founded exclusively for boys,  MCKV embraced a pivotal change in April 2024, transitioning to a co-educational model by welcoming girls into the pre-primary section. This transition will be gradual, extending to encompass all classes. This shift underscores the school's commitment to inclusivity and responsiveness to evolving educational paradigms.

The curriculum framework derives its inspiration from the National Education Policy 2020, offering a multi-dimensional approach that is outcome-specific and geared towards fostering 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, effective communication, creativity, and cross-cultural understanding. Central to its ethos is a student-centric approach, fostering care and recognizing the unique creative talents, interests, and inclinations of each individual. As a result, its students emerge as thoughtful, self-assured individuals, well-equipped to navigate life's complexities.

Situated in the heart of Liluah, Howrah, MCKV has a vibrant and spacious campus designed with children's comfort and convenience in mind, replete with modern amenities and facilities. Conveniently accessible by various modes of transportation, including a short walk from Liluah Railway Station, the school serves as a beacon of learning and growth within the community.

Education at MCKV follows a comprehensive 15-year journey structured across four developmental stages: the Foundational Stage (Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Kindergarten, Classes 1 and 2), the Preparatory Stage (Classes 3 to 5), the Middle Stage (Classes 6 to 8), and the Secondary Stage (Classes 9 to 12). All the stages are overseen by experienced coordinators and dedicated teams of teachers, operating under the guidance of the leadership team.

Motto

सा-विद्या-या-विमुक्तये
means "knowledge leads to liberation & eternal bliss"

When the fire of education is lit, ignited young minds change not only their personal destinies, but also their collective destinies, and the collective destiny of a nation. Therefore, education is a vital part of nation-building. The International Commission of Education for the 21st century set up by UNESCO has defined education’s four-pronged agenda:

  • LEARNING TO KNOW
  • LEARNING TO DO
  • LEARNING TO LIVE
  • LEARNING TO LIVE TOGETHER

For a nation to win, every child must be a winner, and this is the simple philosophy behind M.C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth, an institution that believes that the child is reachable, teachable and worthy of the effort. In other words, this is an institution where every child comes first.

The Vision and the Visionary : An Inspiring Story

M.C. Kejriwal Vidyapeth was founded by Sri S.S. Kejriwal (11.02.1931 - 30.12.2019), a prominent enterpreneur and philanthropist, who felt that the development of India as a modern, progressive, prosperous, and self-reliant country depended entirely on the creation of a well -informed and educated citizenry. Therefore, it was with this vision, and a desire to give back to society, that Sri S.S. Kejriwal laid the foundation  stone of M.C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth on 15 June 1997, and created, with  a missionary zeal, an institution that would, one day, be ranked fifth among the boys' schools in the Kolkata region (Education World Survey, 2021-22)

With this commitment to the education of the youth of the country unabated, Sri S.S. Kejriwal also established the MCKV Institute of Engineering in Howrah, Madhusthali Vidyapeeth ( a co-educational residential -cum -day school), Madhusthali Institute of Teacher Training, and Madhusthali Institute of Paramedical Sciences in Madhupur, Jharkand. He also served on the board of trustees of several well-known schools of Kolkata and Howrah.

Concerned about the negative impact of modern life-style on people's health, Sri S.S. Kejriwal decided to venture into the domain of healthcare by establishing MCKV Health and Medicare in Liluah, Howrah in addition to supporting a hospital in Ramgarh, Rajasthan, set up by his father, the late Chagganlal Kejriwal.

Sri S.S. Kejriwal's vision  is being ably developed and taken forward by his youngest son, Sri Kishan Kumar  Kejriwal, the Chairman of the MCKV Group of Institutions, who plays an enabling and supportive role in the management of the school. Under his leadership, we have not only improved our performance  levels but also received many accolades.
