Career Conclave : An Orientation and Career Seminar for Students Enrolling in Class XI

Published on: 29 Jan 2022

Gone are the days when one was offered subjects on the basis of ‘merit’. With the advent of the National Educational Policy 2020, there has been a massive overhaul in the education sector. This change was much welcome and long overdue. The focus has finally shifted from the curriculum to the individual. For a student to grasp this restructuring is, of course, not a very easy task. In an endeavour to understand the nuances of NEP 2020 and how it will impact the choices made by students, Career Conclave 2022, an orientation and career seminar for students enrolling in Class XI, was organised by MCKV on the morning of 29th January, 2020, where great minds explored the wide untapped repository of options offered to the students today.

The eminent panellists for the session included Ms Sudeshna Banerjee, Associate Editor, The Telegraph; Ms Varsha Karunakaran, Assistant GM, Sales and Marketing, Conclave Club Ambuja Neotia, and Mr Neelkantha Gupta, Director, MCKV. The deliberation was initiated and deftly moderated by Psy. Amitabh Mohan, Founder and MD, HLS India.

What an enriching session it was! While Ms Banerjee shared with the students the three success mantras to improve and excel, Ms Karunakaran decoded the key to attaining success in a profession - understanding personal knack and utilizing opportunities available. Mr Gupta on the other hand, reinforced the necessity of developing 21st century skills as well as being compassionate, considerate and empathetic in a competition-driven world.

This was followed by a widely interactive and productive question answer session.

The career seminar was truly a spectacular show and a profound learning experience for everyone present. At the end of the session, we feel geared up to adopt the transversal approach towards education in our lives.
