M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth Celebrates Republic Day with Grandeur

M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth celebrated the 76th Republic Day on 26 January 2025 with a series of patriotic events that left a lasting impact on students and guests alike. The programme commenced with a warm welcome to Dr Shamik Ghosh, the distinguished Guest of Honour, a renowned paediatrician with extensive experiences in India and the UK. Among the esteemed attendees were Mr Kishan Kumar Kejriwal, Chairman, Dr Parthasarathi Chakraborthy, CEO, MCKV Group of Institutions, Dr Abhijit Lahiri, Principal of MCKV Institute of Engineering, Mr Neelkantha Gupta, Director, MCKV, Ms Sharmilee Bandyopadhyay, Principal, MCKV, Mr Abhay Kejriwal, Trustee, Mr Biswajit Majumdar, Headmaster, MCKV and Mr Janardan Ghosh, Educational Officer of Madhusthali Vidyapeeth and the esteemed faculty members.

The celebrations commenced with a disciplined March Past, showcasing the students’ unity and respect to the nation. Led by their respective House Captains along with Prefects, students of Class 8, NCC cadets, and the Scout troop marched with precision and enthusiasm. This was followed by the unfurling of the national flag, accompanied by the melodious strains of the national anthem sung in unison.

In his speech, the Chairman underscored the pivotal role of values and sanskar in character formation, emphasizing their function as  guiding principles in life. He encouraged  students to take responsibility as citizens by contributing to our nation's growth, through acts like planting trees and nurturing young saplings.The School Vice-Captain, Kunal Tiwari, delivered an insightful Republic Day speech, highlighting  the importance of education in contributing to the country’s development.

The event also included two rounds of prize distribution, where students were recognized for their extracurricular excellence. Adding to the celebratory ambience, the school choir performed a heartfelt patriotic song that resonated with the spirit of the occasion.

The Guest of Honour, Dr Shamik Ghosh, delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and their enduring legacy. He urged everyone to take pride in their identity as Indians. He concluded with a powerful quote by Rabindranath Tagore: “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high…” emphasizing on the importance of free knowledge and unity for the nation’s progress.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Assistant Scout Leader, Kanishk Kumar Dokania. The celebration embodied the true spirit of patriotism, unity, and responsibility, inspiring everyone to contribute meaningfully to the progress and prosperity of the nation.
