Small Choices, Big Impact: Learning Responsible Waste Management
Published on: 13 Oct 2026

On 12 October 2026, Sanghita Chatterjee, Head-Corporate Communications and Outreach Plastic Foundation, conducted an engaging session on responsible waste management, encouraging students to reflect on their choices and actions in everyday situations. She introduced the three voices we often hear within ourselves—the Parent, the Child, and Wisdom and explored how these influence our decisions.
Through the interactive Copycat Challenge, students examined how they learn waste-disposal practices—through formal instruction or by observing others. Divided into four groups, they sorted cards depicting different kinds of waste into four categories of dustbins. The session emphasised that banning plastic alone is not the solution; rather, responsible use, proper segregation, and mindful disposal are essential for a sustainable future.
